August 2024 Update

August 6, 2024

Dear Friends,

Our shared faith in the God of the Bible is what links us in the family of God. I am so grateful that the Lord sought us as He did resulting in the birth of our trust in Him. Just the other day as I rode down the road with our dog Millie the question came to me, "Do you know why I make it so much about faith?" I knew better than to answer the question, so in my heart I ask why. It was then that the Lord said, "Because I am training you to see me with your heart. And, when you see me with your eyes, it will be ever so much better."

The ministry the Lord has called me to is a daily adventure, one that leads to the formation of new friendships on a daily basis. Over a year ago a new restaurant came to our town and since then I have been getting to know the owners and their employees. As a result, I have spent quite a bit of time discussing the things of the Lord with the many there who show an interest in the things of the Lord. There has been some discussion of a Bible Study that would take place one early morning of the week there. I would ask you to make this an item of prayer. I will keep you posted on the developments of this request.

Just over two years ago I met another man who has opened another business here in Elgin and every time I go in there he and I have rather lengthy discussions about the Lord Jesus and His Word. This man seems to really appreciate our discussions about the Lord and His Word. Just the other day he informed me that he was a Mormon. When I didn't react to him making this known to me he asked why I didn't respond. I responded by asking him what he thought about the Lord Jesus because at the end of the day what we do with Him is the most important thing. As a result of our many discussions, I am finding that he isn't much of a Mormon. Be praying for him as we continue down the road of our discussions about the Lord and His Word.

I continue to speak every Sunday and Wednesday at churches here in South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina. Please pray that I will have continued stamina. Also, please pray that the Lord continues to give me real insight into His Word that translates into helping people where they are in life. There is much pain out there and even though I speak to different groups of believers, most of my ministry is to unbelievers.

I continue to disciple various ones both in person and through the Zoom app. The Wednesday morning Bible Study with a couple of the Hammond football coaches here in town and a few fathers has developed into a Bible Study with Hammond parents. Please pray for continued favor as we continue to study the book of Romans. It is quite fulfilling to see eyes opened and lives changed.

I continue to do the blog and the podcasts, although recently I went to a three day schedule with them. With all that is going on with preparing for Sundays and Wednesdays and working with individuals in person or on Zoom, I had to lessen the load in this way. The blogs and the podcast have done well over the past six years. According to YouTube, since August of 2018 we have had almost 26,000 people to watch or listen to a podcast. According to Rumble, since August 2018 we have had almost 24,000 people to watch or listen to a podcast. Between Spotify and the Apple Podcasts, there are about 1200 listens per month. About a week ago I received a notification from Apple Podcasts that my podcast was second in its category in the United Arab Emirates.

Finally, thank you for the role the Lord has called you to play regarding this ministry. I covet your prayers. God has established prayer as the means by which we receive his supernatural help, and, without His supernatural help, nothing will be accomplished with eternal value. Please be praying about two international opportunities that have popped up on my calendar. It appears that Debbie and I may be going to Italy in May of 2025. We look forward to ministry to several couples we have gotten to know over the past few years through YouTube. Also, I have been approached to travel to India for two weeks of meetings in the next year or two. I will share more about these two opportunities as we approach them. It is my prayer that the Lord richly blesses you for your sacrifice of prayer and financial support!

Sincerely,

Bobby Young
